About Our Nursery
Our nursery is a key part of Priory Rise School, facilitated by an experienced team who work very closely together and with the rest of the staff across the Foundation Stage. Nursery is currently staffed by a full-time teacher, 2 full-time nursery nurses and a full time teaching assistant. We offer a warm and welcoming nursery environment which provides well-resourced inside and outside areas. Your child will be able to extend their learning by exploring and playing with resources designed to capture and develop their interests. Learning will be developed through the characteristics of effective learning and the 7 areas of the early years foundation stage (EYFS).
Your child’s learning and progress will be captured in Tapestry (an online learning journal), something which has been highly successful and popular with parents. We recognise that each child is unique and progresses at their own rate in their own way. Our caring and nurturing staff will enable your child to develop to be the best version of themselves by providing individualised learning through observation, questioning, exploration and building on children’s interests. Nursery children will visit other parts of the school; the small hall to do P.E. once a week and the library to borrow a book, enabling the children to become familiar with the larger school community around them.
The EYFS framework was given a significant review and new guidance became statutory in September 2021. At Priory Rise we chose to become Early Adopters of the new framework, so we are now into our 3rd year of using the new guidance.
